Up to 300 small artworks, each 5 inches square, are being created by citizens of the six Lakota nations in the United States and the one Lakota nation in Canada. These artworks represent the Lakota children, women and men who were massacred on December 29, 1890 at Wounded Knee. The artworks are arranged right-to-left, top-to-bottom in the order they arrive at CAIRNS. If you would like to create an artwork for this project, and you are a citizen of a Lakota nation, please click on the link to the left, download the form, and mail it to CAIRNS. Or, you may email or call us with your address and we will mail one to you.
