Welcome to Takuwe, an educational art exhibit centered on reimagining the senseless slaughter of innocent Lakota children, women and men at Wounded Knee on December 29, 1890. It includes songs, visual artworks and poems by forty-seven contemporary Lakota artists. Its narrative structure organizes the words of Lakotas who where there in 1890 and 1891 into seven chronological sections.
