Tribal Flags at Statewide Arts Conference

Wednesday, October 28, 2020

Arts South Dakota, a nonprofit statewide arts advocacy organization, partnered with the South Dakota Arts Council to host their biannual arts conference. This year, due to the pandemic, the conference was virtual. A temporary studio was set up in a multi-purpose room at Hay Camp Brewery in Rapid City. The CAIRNS director helped hang the flags of the nine federally-recognized tribes that govern lands in South Dakota. The flag display served as a backdrop for in-studio performances and presentations. A tech production company from Sioux Falls handled the technology aspects of the conference. Their setup was amazing! The picture above captures just a glimpse of the impressive array of behind-the-cameras equipment and personnel that helped the conference run smoothly.
