Buffalos & Lakotas at Washington & Lee University

Late this afternoon, the CAIRNS director zoomed into an American Indian religion class at Washington & Lee University for an hour-long presentation that examined the relationships between Lakota spirits and the Pte people, and between the Pte people and Lakotas. The talk incorporated images of artworks from the Lakota Emergence, Great Race, and upcoming The Gift exhibitions to illustrate these key narratives in Lakota history that touch on the relationships between spirits, Ptes and Lakotas.
